When and how often should I use hapé? What dosage is recommended?

This is a personal choice, but we recommend using hapé with respect and intention, supporting your path rather than using it casually. It’s safe to use more than once daily if needed, but avoid overuse. Listen to your body and intuition. For dosage, start with a small amount, especially if you’re new to hapé, and adjust based on your tolerance.

What is hapé?

Hapé is a sacred indigenous snuff used for thousands of years in Amazonian rituals. It’s intended to increase awareness and align the mind, body, and spirit, promoting both mental and physical cleansing. Unlike hallucinogens, hapé is an entheogen that induces a shamanic state without altering perception. It’s important to understand that hapé is not addictive—it is a medicinal practice.

How is hapé made?

Hapé is a fine powder made from crushed medicinal plants, bark, and herbs, prepared through a sacred and meticulous ritual. The mixture is ground into a fine powder, which is then inhaled through the nostrils.

How is hapé applied?

Hapé is traditionally applied using a ceremonial pipe made of bamboo or bone. There are two types of pipes for this purpose:

1. Kuripe – A portable, V-shaped pipe with two connected hollow tubes. One end is placed in the mouth and the other in a nostril, allowing self-administration.

2. Tepi – A longer pipe designed for one person to administer hapé to another, promoting connection and trust. This method is often used in ceremonial settings, symbolizing an exchange of energy.

Creating a Special Environment for Using Hapé

Hapé is a sacred medicine, and creating a calm, intentional environment for its use enhances its effects. Choose a peaceful setting, either indoors or outdoors, and set an intention for the experience. Approach the practice with respect, connecting deeply with your inner self.

Benefits of Hapé

The immediate effects of hapé include increased concentration, awareness, muscle relaxation, and a sense of cleansing. Long-term, it can help focus the mind, clear negative energies, support respiratory health, and provide emotional grounding. Hapé is also used alongside other healing practices, like ayahuasca ceremonies, to enhance mental and spiritual well-being.
